On February 17th, 2022, we signed the final documents securing a capital expansion of 21 million DKK. The investment aims to accelerate the development and dissemination of our weather stations for agriculture, marking a significant milestone in our journey to provide farmers with the best tools to monitor and act upon their local weather conditions.
We are pleased to announce that on February 17th, 2022, FieldSense successfully raised a so-called seed round of 21 million DKK to continue our expansion and development of hyperlocal weather solutions for farmers. The round was led by Danish Agro with Rockstart and Pajbjergfonden as co-investors, marking a significant milestone in our journey to bring better weather solutions to farmers. The investment enables us to solidify our position in existing markets and look towards aggressive expansion into new and exciting markets. John Smedegaard, CEO of FieldSense, stated:
"Our plan is to strengthen our position in Germany, which is one of our key markets. Additionally, we are looking towards Poland and England as the next countries for expansion. The demand for hyperlocal weather data already exists, and this investment enables us to meet that demand."
In addition to the existing investors Danish Agro and Pajbjergfonden, this investment round also welcomes a new investor. Rockstart is a capital fund specializing in AgriFood, Energy, and Emerging Technologies.
"Our current investors are important agro organizations, connecting us closely with a fantastic network of farmers. Rockstart brings a lot of new perspectives to the table, but particularly their expertise in Agtech scalability is truly valuable for us at the current stage of our journey," stated John Smedegaard.
We are extremely excited about the journey that this investment allows us to embark upon. We are delighted to offer our services to an unprecedented number of farmers, as we can see that farmers are increasingly recognizing the value of hyperlocal weather data.
